ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

The Philippine Academy of Occupational Therapists (PAOT) is the official professional organization representing occupational therapists in the Philippines. We are committed to promoting excellence in OT practice, education, and research to enhance the well-being of individuals and communities.


Our Vision

​PAOT, Inc. is highly recognized at the national and international levels as a provider of services to clients and other stakeholders in the areas of health, wellness, productivity and quality of life.

Our Mission

The missions of PAOT, Inc. shall be:
1. To foster a strong fellowship and unity among its members.
2. To protect the general well-being and welfare of its members, including its chapters.
3. To safeguard and advance the education and training of occupational therapists in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
4. To encourage advanced study and research in occupational therapy.
5. To enforce the observance of the Code of Ethics of the PAOT, Inc.
6. To enforce the observance of the Standards of Practice of PAOT, Inc..
7. To promote coordination with other disciplines and their professional organizations, both locally and internationally.
8. To keep abreast of new developments in the profession, and to facilitate the exchange and dissemination of knowledge among occupational therapy professionals.
9. To act as a consultative body in all matters pertaining to the profession.
10. To cooperate with government and other health organizations on issues pertaining to the national health care program of the country.

Advocacy and Representation

PAOT actively champions the role of occupational therapists in shaping health, education, and social policies in the Philippines. We work closely with government agencies, institutions, and stakeholders to ensure that the voice of OTs is heard and that the profession continues to be recognized as essential in improving lives and communities.

Professional Development

We are committed to advancing the skills and knowledge of occupational therapists through workshops, training, and continuing education programs. PAOT provides opportunities for members to stay updated with current practices, evidence-based approaches, and emerging trends in occupational therapy.

Networking and Support

PAOT fosters a supportive and collaborative community for occupational therapy practitioners across the country. Through chapters, events, and online platforms, members can connect, share experiences, and build partnerships that strengthen both individual careers and the collective growth of the profession.
